Yogi Evening Drink: Homemade Chai Recipe

Yogi Evening Drink: Homemade Chai Recipe

This drink is so perfect as an evening drink or when you want to get cozy in the coldest months. Plus it makes your entire home smells wonderful.

Not only it smells delicious, it also aids digestion, improves your energy level and calm your nervous stysle.  It's also a great drink to prevent colds and flu.

 Here is what you need:

  • A large saucepan
  • A sieve
  • Another pot for your tea.

Ingredients:

  • 15 whole cloves
  • 20 black peppercorns
  • 3  cinnamon sticks
  • 20 cardamon pods (split pods first)
  • 8 ginger slices (no need to peel)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black tea, or one small bag (if you're making this tea for the evening, infuse your tea bag first to get rid of the theine, pour the water away and re-use the tea bag in your recipe.
  • 2l of water

Optional:

  • Honey or agave syrupt
  • Milk/Oat Milk

Put everything together in a saucepan with the water. Let it simmer on slow heat. After 30 minutes, it's ready to be served, you can add some honey/agave syrup if you would like to sweeten it a bit, I also like adding a splash of oat milk into it.

Good to know: longer you let it infuse, stronger it's gonn get, you can always add extra water to make it less strong.

Enjoy!
